Have a great 2010

Hi CAS

Well I believe 2010 is going to be an interesting year for CAS and its members.

First, with Paul's gift to the club is a HUGE lift for the CAS, and shows the kindness and love of the membership from Paul.

Second, my daughter Jillian buying (this coming Saturday morning) her first telescope. She is very excited, and is joining the CAS. This is something I'm very glad to see, as my legacy will continue well after I'm gone.

Third, Josh's BIG announcement. I told him last night that midnight tonight starts his countdown to his receipt of the 25" f/4 Obsession.

M33 from New Ringgold

M33 with FSQ
I saw that Richard was working on M33 and all I can say is that 'great minds think alike' Eye. I have been working on it in bits and pieces as the clouds come and go for a couple of weeks now. This is what I have so far. Richard, I have a spot for you in the new observatory when you are ready to go remote and image in comfort. I know it is not as much fun but it is nice in the winter!

M33 with FSQ

M33 with the FSQ-106 and my U8300 camera. This is 27L, and around 12 each RGB and HA all at 5 minutes each. I blended a little HA with the Red channel to bring out those cool nebulae in the galaxy. Taken from the observatory in New Ringgold, over several nights from 12/12 to 12/23/2009.
