M106

M106 or NGC 4258 is a spiral galaxy in Canes Venatici. It is about 22 million light years away. It has apparent dimensions of 19x8 arc minutes and a visual brightness of 8.4 magnitude. NGC 4248 is the smaller galaxy to the right at mag 12.6 and 3 arc minutes in size.

Guiding: ST402 autoguider in NP101 at 540mm
Exposure: Luminance: 39x5 minutes binned 2x2, R:15x5 min G:15x4 min B:15x6 min, all binned 3x3. The total time was 7.2 hours
Processing: Image acquisition using CCD Autopilot. Initial processing was done using Maxim DL with subsequent processing using Photoshop.
