Guest Speaker via Skype: Dave Tosteson of the Minnesota Astronomical Society (and a family physician), who proudly pushes the limits of what is visible. Recipient of the Lone Stargazer award at the Texas Star Party, author of approximately one hundred fifty articles in publications such as Sky & Telescope, The Reflector, Amateur Astronomy and Britain’s Webb Society Journal.
Topic: How to Choose, Research and Prepare to Observe a Challenging and Rewarding Target
Specific objects that will be discussed:
-Edwin Hubble’s M31 V1, variable star
-Ultra Diffuse Galaxies (UDGs)
-The most massive and brightest Milky Way star cluster
-A very high redshift quasar
-Brown dwarfs
-Gravitationally lensed arcs
